Synopsis:-
Karnan is a much awaited 2021 Indian Tamil-language action drama film which is directed by Mari Selvaraj. This movie belongs to the leagues of Asuran(2019) and Sonchiriya(2019).
The movie marks the first project between Dhanush and director Mari Selvaraj, who got the limelight with his 2018 movie Pariyerum Perumal.
Karnan initially released in theatres on April 9 in theaters and got good response too and the movie was highly praised by critics and audience.
The movie was lauded for showing the issue of caste discrimination and for representing the struggles of the oppressed class and their fight for getting dignity in society.
Karnan has finally got an OTT release on 14 May, 2021. It can be watched on Amazon prime if you have its subscription.

Plot:-
Karnan is loosely influenced by the 1995 Kodiyankulam caste violence that happened in Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu and has many character names in the movie based on the epic Mahabharata.
Karnan Is a fearless young boy of the village who fights for the rights of the people of his village. The people of the village belong to a marginalized community that has been oppressed for decades mainly by the upper caste groups in the region which used to get aid by the corrupt government machinery and police officials who intend to keep them suppressed and ridicule them.
